Cork County Mayor and Housing Minister visit Tuath site in Macroom
9th July, 2026
Tuath Housing was pleased to welcome the Mayor of Cork County and the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage for a recent site visit at Clós an tSuláin, Macroom.
Tuath and Anvers Housing, in partnership with Cork County Council, are delivering a specialised housing development at this site, which is due for delivery in 2027.
Mayor Bernard Moynihan and Minister James Browne TD walked the site with Vice Chair of Tuath’s Board Angela Murphy and members of the Tuath Development team. They were joined by contractors Cumnor and representatives of Anvers Housing and Acquired Brain Injury Ireland (ABII).

The development will deliver 18 social homes designed to age-friendly standards, which may be allocated to older persons, alongside a separate, purpose-built five-bed communal residence for people living with acquired brain injury. The project represents a significant investment in inclusive, community-based housing in the Macroom area. This project shows the value of partnership, where Tuath is working with Acquired Brain Injury Ireland (ABII) to deliver this specialised housing development as part of the overall project. Anvers Housing Association work in conjunction with ABII to enable people with neuro rehabilitation needs to lead meaningful lives within their community.
Clós an tSuláin is a Tuath direct-build development, funded through the Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and being delivered in partnership with Cork County Council on council-owned land transferred to Tuath.

Once complete, the 18 homes will include 10 two-bedroom and eight one-bedroom homes, all allocated to households on Cork County Council’s housing waiting list. The development will also feature the five-bed communal residence for people with acquired brain injury. This specialist facility will provide a safe and supportive environment, enabling residents to live as independently as possible while staying connected to the local community, through ongoing support from ABII.
