A purpose-built older person’s scheme, this development was delivered in 2020, by Tuath, in partnership with Dublin City Council. A direct-build project, Raleigh Court consists of 33 apartments in a 2/3-storey block around a landscaped courtyard, including communal meeting space & caretakers office. The main contractor was Glenman Corporation Ltd.
Raleigh Court also contains a community hall, which was redesigned by Griffith College design students, and officially opened by Lord Mayor of Dublin Alison Gilliland in April 2022. The community room redesign was collaboration between Raleigh Court residents and final year students from Griffith College’s Interior Architecture course, who presented four different designs to the residents before works began.
The new room is a social and learning hub for residents and hosts a range of activities including coffee mornings, chair yoga and digital skills classes.
